His rebellion blossomed fully when he got his driver’s license at age 16, allowing him to listen to the devil’s music whenever he wanted, in the solitude of his ’71 Super Beetle. And this is where he first heard singles from Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life.” When he bought the double album (with bonus tracks), Joe discovered the full breadth of Wonder’s genius. 

Joe had dreamed of working in radio from age 10, so when it came time to pick a university, he chose one with a broadcast department. He landed his first full time radio gig even before graduating and went on to work in local radio and television news in his native Tulsa, Oklahoma.

His broadcasting career evolved into public relations work, which led him to create Oklahoma’s first media monitoring firm. He became a leader in the regional monitoring industry before joining what was then the nation’s dominant TV monitoring company in the 90s and early 2000s. He turned to international consulting, doing tours in East Africa and the Caribbean, before joining National Aircheck as VP of Operations. He’s been here since 2016, and contributed to the design of National Aircheck’s one-of-a-kind, infinitely scalable, radio and podcast monitoring platform.
